Protect Seniors’ Care: Stop Medicare Advantage Cuts

Seniors’ health care should never be used as a pay-for in budget negotiations.

Congress is weighing the No UPCODE Act in funding negotiations—a move that would cut hundreds of billions of dollars from Medicare Advantage over 10 years, disrupt care coordination, and raise costs for more than 35 million beneficiaries who depend on the program.

Organizations including providers, health systems, business groups, patient advocates, and community organizations are invited to sign onto Better Medicare Alliance’s letter to urge Congress to reject these cuts.

Why this matters now

After consecutive years of policy and payment changes, seniors are facing plan closures, reduced benefits, and higher out-of-pocket costs. Additional cuts or rushed policy changes outside regular Congressional order would deepen this instability and threaten the affordable, high-quality care seniors in Medicare Advantage rely on every day.

What we’re asking Congress to do:

  • Keep Medicare Advantage funding decisions out of opaque budget deals.
  • Reject new cuts that undermine affordability and benefits.
  • Oppose the No UPCODE Act and protect coordinated care for seniors.
